Internet in the Philippines speeds up from 2020 to 2021

  Fixed and mobile internet speeds in the Philippines have more than doubled between June 2020 and June 2021, according to the latest Speedtest® Global Index by Ookla® In June 2021, average mobile internet download speeds in the country were at 32.84 Mbps, twice as fast as the speeds posted in the same period the previous year, while fixed broadband download speeds have also nearly tripled to 66.55 Mbps compared to June last year. Over the same period of June 2021, PLDT and its wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart)'s fixed and mobile internet average download speeds from results of tests taken with Speedtest were 78.94 Mbps and 50.19 Mbps*, respectively. The latest Speedtest Global Index reflects  the Philippines' fixed broadband download speeds are just behind Vietnam's 74.46 Mbps, but well ahead of ASEAN countries Laos (44.56 Mbps), Brunei (38.56 Mbps), Indonesia (26.17 Mbps), Cambodia (26.10 Mbps) and Myanmar (24.86 Mbps). IATF approves PRC's July to September 2021 board exams

Will the 2021 Librarian Licensure Examination be postponed? Most likely not, as IATF has 'provisionally approved' that board exams for July to September will go on. This means that unless there is another announcement, the LLE will push through. Always visit the PRC website for any announcement about the exam. According to Malacañang, licensure examinations scheduled for July to September 2021 by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has been provisionally approved. This covers the Librarian Licensure Examination 2021 scheduled for September 8-9, 2021. In a press statement by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) approved PRC's request for the scheduled exams to push through. Roque stated that the conduct of exams are subject to conditions. Health and safety protocols should be observed. Quarantine classifications should also be considered. Quezon City Public Library launches all-gender restroom

Launching the all-gender restroom in Quezon City Public Library Just in time for Pride Month, the Quezon City Public Library launched an all-gender restroom last June 8, 2021. This initiative is part of the library's campaign to be a more inclusive environment, especially for the LGBTQA+ community. This is also in support of the Quezon City Ordinance No. 2357, series of 2014, or the "Gender Fair Ordinance" which provides for a comprehensive anti-discrimination policy on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression (SOGIE). According to the Quezon City Public Library, they believe that having an all-gender restroom can serve as an instrument to cater to the personal needs of members of the LGBT community. In Quezon City, there have been past incidents where transgender women experienced harassment from simply entering women's restrooms.
