Social media for libraries and librarians: advantages, disadvantages, how to create effective and engaging posts, and some alternatives to social media. 

There has been a lot of hype about social media and libraries ever since the COVID-19 pandemic started. While libraries and librarians has always used social media, during the pandemic more libraries have also implemented social media often as part of there marketing, promotion, or reference services. Social media has a lot of advantages but it also has downsides. 

I am sharing my tips for effective and engaging posts based on my experience as a blogger and managing library social media pages. I am also sharing some alternatives and platforms that could complement the library's social media.
