Drama lang! Random musings and #hugotlines in our LibrarySerye GC "Maybe you met not so you can be together, but for both of you to learn something," because Princess was complaining why do people meet when being together is impossible? Today is my older brother's 27th birthday, he's studying Law in Manila. Meanwhile here at home my mother is cooking pasta so we can celebrate even if the birthday boy is absent. I'm turning 24 next month, how fast time flies! There's still so much to experience in life, yet I feel like I also wasted time.  Last night a friend invited me to their church for another talk on love, this month's favorite topic. Weekend trip to Antique

Image
Me and some college friends decided to go to Antique last February 11-12. One of my friends have been inviting us to her hometown in Sebaste, Antique since college and we only went there now (two years after graduation!). After planning and some who backed out due to schedule or budget, there were six of us left who went around Pandan, Sebaste, Mararison Island, and Tibiao. My last out-of-town trips in 2016 was in Cadiz City, Bacolod last November for a family reunion and in El Nido, Palawan last June with my brother. Its great to get out of the city once in a while, visit other provinces, and see the beautiful wonders of our country. El Nido deserves to be named as one of the most beautiful places in the world, with crystal-clear waters on white sand beaches. No wonder it has been the location of movies such as Bourne Legacy whose last scenes were shot there. Sebaste is a 5-hour ride from the city (by private car, if you commute it would take around 6 hours or more due to stop-ove...

Image
The Signature of All Things: a novel  by Elizabeth Gilbert, Viking ©2013 Writer Elizabeth Gilbert is best known for her memoir Eat, Pray, Love. Suspicious of bestsellers, I avoided the book for a long time but I read it because my brother bought a 10th-anniversary edition of the book. Now I understand why it was such a hit! In her travels through Italy, India, and Indonesia, she tells about her struggles with a marriage that ended, and finding joy and enlightenment in the pleasures of Italy, living in an ashram in India, and ending the journey in Indonesia. Her book Big Magic  is my favorite book on creativity and inspiration. It taught me that we should enjoy  our creativity, its our God-given right, and rebel against the notion of suffering artists. It encourages us to create and engage in inspiration. There is magic in creativity, and I love the idea that ideas are also alive and are seeking the best willing collaborators. I recommend it to writers, artists, and ...
