Public school teachers get specialized training from Globe

Globe further enhances its support to the Department of Education (DepEd) by helping public school educators keep up with the demands of the new normal through free professional development training designed to provide teachers with essential knowledge and skills on digital literacy, blended learning, and 21st-century learning methods. ICPL's Crisis Intervention Unit Library officially inaugurated

Present during the ceremony is Congresswoman Julienne "Jam-Jam" Baronda. This library was launched last February "to support the needs of the children and to inspire them by the excitement of finding knowledge and by works of their imagination through reading." This project is from the initiative of City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas through Iloilo City Public Library continuing project, "A Library for JUAN: Bring JUAN to the Library, Bring the Library to JUAN." 14 PH universities selected among Asia's best HEIs

14 universities in the Philippines were included in a prestigious list of the best higher education institutions in Asia. This is based on the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2021. The QS is a global education think-tank and compiles rankings of universities all over the world. The list ranks the top 650 schools in Asia. According to topuniversities.com, "This year’s ranking of the top Asian universities features 650 institutions, making it the biggest Asia ranking we’ve ever published. Mainland China leads the way with over 120 universities included this year, with India, Japan and South Korea the next most-represented study destinations. Those four destinations combined account for more than 65 percent of all ranked institutions this year. This year’s ranking has been constructed using 11 indicators." 2021 Librarian Licensure Examination schedule released by PRC

PRC recently released the schedule for the 2021 Librarian Licensure Examination or LLE. The 2021 schedules for all professional licensure examinations were also released. The LLE schedule will be on September 8-9, 2021 (Wednesday and Thursday) with testing centers in NCR, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Rosales, Tacloban, and Tuguegarao. The opening of online application will be on June 8, 2021, and the deadline for filing applications will be on August 9, 2021. DICT installs free wifi to public libraries

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has installed over 6,723 wifi sites all over the country under its Free Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) for All program. This includes 138 public libraries.  These free wifi sites were installed in over 80 provinces and 1,021 cities and municipalities. The priority of this program is providing free wifi to the education sector. At present, they have established wifi sites for public schools, SUCs, and TESDA branches.  They have also provided free wifi to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Education, Training, and Doctrine Command (AFPETDC) in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City, which provides military education to uniformed personnel.  The DICT targets to build 100,000 free wifi access sites by 2023.  The Department of Information and Communications Technology, launched in 2016, is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for the planning, development, and promotion of the count...
