More than 200 digitized art books and exhibition catalogs of New York's Guggenheim Museum art books are available for free online. The books are mostly on Modern Art.  These have been available for free even before the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the spread of the virus and many are forced to stay home, some writers and publishers have been making their books free.  If you want to learn more about artists such as Mark Rothko, Pablo Picasso, Edvard Munch, there are books specializing on them. The annual National Congress of Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) supposed to be held in Iloilo City this November 24-27, 2020 is canceled. Due to COVID-19, social gatherings are not encouraged to prevent the spread of the virus.  According to an official statement by PLAI, "As much as we would like to continue learning, connecting, and engaging with fellow librarians and information professionals during the Congress, we cannot compromise the safety of everyone." Last week, bestselling author Stephenie Meyer drove Twilight fans into a frenzy of speculation due to a cryptic countdown on her website. In anticipation of her announcement, the website stepheniemeyer.com actually crashed due to high traffic.
