The annual National Congress of Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) supposed to be held in Iloilo City this November 24-27, 2020 is canceled. Due to COVID-19, social gatherings are not encouraged to prevent the spread of the virus.
According to an official statement by PLAI, "As much as we would like to continue learning, connecting, and engaging with fellow librarians and information professionals during the Congress, we cannot compromise the safety of everyone."
The decision was made in an online meeting last May 6, 2020.
