The University of the Philippines in the Visayas Main Library in Miag-ao, Iloilo organized a community pantry as part of their outreach program last May 19, 2021.

The community pantry's beneficiaries included the janitorial staff of the UPV Campus.

According to the UPV website, "During this pandemic, many underprivileged people can hardly earn enough to sustain their family's basic needs. We are all aware that these people are among those who need our support. This prompted the library staff led by University Librarian Ms. Analiza G. Linaugo facilitated by Ms. Elsa Surmieda, College Librarian, to contribute financially or in kind. Through the efforts and cooperation of everyone, the said activity was materialized."

Recently, the UPV Library launched Chat Bisay, a virtual library assistant. UPV is also constructing a larger Main Campus library complex worth 360 million pesos.
