ISCOF San Enrique Campus has a new Library building

The Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) San Enrique Campus just finished the construction of a new 2-storey library building.

Librarian Mariter Siozan shared pictures of the newly constructed library building.


About Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF)

ISCOF is the first and only Fisheries state college in the Philippines. Formerly Iloilo Regional School of Fisheries, it was converted into the Iloilo State College of Fisheries in August 1978 through Presidential Decree 1523. Dr. Elpidio M. Icamina served as the first President of the school.

ISCOF's main campus is located in Tiwi, Barotac Nuevo; with branch campuses throughout Iloilo in Barotac Nuevo, Dumangas, Dingle, and San Enrique. 

ISCOF offers courses in Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences, Arts & Sciences, Education, and Maritime Studies.

ISCOF San Enrique campus offers Master's and Bachelors courses on Agriculture, Information Technology, Education and Hospitality Management. They also offer vocational and technical programs.

Academic and Public Libraries in the Panay launching new buildings

Despite the pandemic, many academic libraries are building new facilities. These new libraries are not only storehouses for books, but planned to be innovative spaces and envisioned to be centers for various online resources.

University of the Philippines in the Visayas is building a UPV Main Library Complex worth 360 million pesos.

As for public libraries, Iloilo City is also building a new city library, the Graciano Lopez Jaena Museum & Library to be built in honor of the Ilonggo hero.

In Capiz, the Capiz Provincial Library just opened last year. Lately, the Balay Mapanag Municipal Library, Museum, and Archives of the municipality of Cuartero in Capiz also opened.
