DOST-STII Library offers free Online Library Literacy program and resources for schools

The DOST is offering several free library resources for the public. DOST STII (Department of Science and Technology Science and Technology Information Institute) is offering a free Online Library Literacy program for those interested in learning more about the information sources they have. This is an online orientation on how to access and use these resources. 

The DOST-STII Online Library Literacy Program is an online version of library tour and orientation wherein requesting stakeholders are educated on how to avail of DOST-STII free resources, services and products, how to research in DOST-STII Library by using the library’s Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), and how they can request materials online as well as how to navigate the different versions of DOST-STARBOOKS (offline, online, mobile, quiz app, and geomap app).

How to avail of this service?

This service is free for the public, contact the DOST STII Library at library@stii.dost.gov.ph and your preferred schedule. Please note that the service is only available from Monday to Thursday, 8 AM - 5 PM.

Who can avail of this service?

The Online Library Literacy program is open for all private and public schools. It will be conducted via Zoom and can accommodate 50-500 participants.

The orientation will last around 2 hours and the following topics will be discussed: 

  • Part 1: Getting to know DOST-STII: Free Online Services & Resources
  • Part 2: Researching in DOST-STII Library
  • Part 3: Navigating the DOST-STARBOOKS Online, Mobile App and Quiz App.
