The Iloilo Mega Book Fair 2020 will go online this November. From November 12-15, there will be a series of online literary talks on various topics about Western Visayas Literature. The event is free, however, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and there is a limit (300) to the number of allowed participants. Register now!
This year's theme is A City Built on Books, which "highlights literature in the time of pandemic and in all aspects including children’s rights, teachers and librarian education, history, heritage, local films, comics, food culture, environment, and artists’ rights."
Stephen Alayon, PRC's Outstanding Professional for librarianship this 2020, is one of the speakers. He will be speaking on the topic "Digitization, Digital Library, Digital Scholarship, and Open Access Initiatives in the Philippines" on November 14, Saturday.

"The Iloilo Mega Book Fair (IMBF), launched in 2018, is a Hubon Manunulat, Book Latte, and Kasingkasing Press initiative aimed at gathering annually West Visayan scholars in the fields of education, literary tourism, and creative industry. This also aimed to discuss and promote the participation of scholars, artists, and writers, and to emphasize their key positions as cultural producers in the developing literary tourism in Western Visayas and in preserving West Visayan cultures.
The third Iloilo Mega Book Fair is once again happening on 12-15 November 2020, in digital format with virtual fair and rights platform. This time in partnership with Hubon Manunulat: West Visayan Writers, Kasingkasing Press, Book Latte, Books4Books, and Primeof Philippines to acknowledge the importance of collaboration with private sectors. This year’s theme “A City Built on Books” highlights literature in the time of pandemic and in all aspects including children’s rights, teachers and librarian education, history, heritage, local films, comics, food culture, environment, and artists’ rights."
