PLAI National Congress 2022 in Iloilo City: What you need to know

About the National Congress: General Information

After two years of being online, the annual National Congress of the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) will be a face-to-face event this 2022. It has been announced in 2019 that the next National Congress will be in Iloilo City, but since COVID-19 happened, the last two congresses has been conducted online.

The 2022 PLAI Congress and General Assembly will be held in the Iloilo Convention Center, Megaworld Boulevard in Mandurriao, Iloilo City on November 22-25, 2022 (Tuesday to Friday). The theme for the congress is "Working Together: Sustainability, Opportunity, Adaptability, and Resiliency."

Objectives

• Describe how do libraries of today translate changing needs and services into functional, inspiring, and adaptable spaces for the future, especially considering the pandemic.
• Discuss the library resilience in the face of disruption caused by outbreaks/pandemic, and it will highlight examples of library resilience during these unprecedented times, including evidence of library roles in providing research assistance to clients.
• Demonstrate the significant initiatives, sustainability and adaptability measures taken by the libraries which can be followed by others to meet the post lockdown needs.

Requests for DepEd Advisory, CSC Announcement, and CHED Memo are being processed. PLAI Congress 2022 is also being applied for as a CPD Program.

Endorsements from government agencies, organizations, and accrediting institutions will be uploaded in the Invitation Kit once received by PLAI.

The registration fees do not include accommodation.

Non-PLAI Member: P6,000

Regular Rate (from October 16 to November 15, 2022 only)

Deposit slip should be scanned and uploaded upon registering online. For PLAI Members, Official Receipt of their 2022 Annual Dues should also be scanned and uploaded. The Official Receipt for the registration fee shall be issued onsite during the registration which will start at 10:00 AM on 22 November 2022.
