Last October 12, Manila City Mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno' Domagoso inaugurated the newly-renovated Manila City Library. This public library is located in Ermita along Taft Avenue.
The library now includes modern equipment such as laptops, computers, and wifi connection for visitors.
The Mayor also emphasized the importance of the library for young people and children even with advances in technology. He stated that the government should provide opportunities to enrich the knowledge of the citizens.
Even with the pandemic, the Mayor said that the city government of Manila will continue to support and improve the library.
St. Mary's Publishing donated 1 million pesos worth of books to the library, personally received by Mayor Isko and Maria Shielah 'Honey' Lacuna-Pangan.
The library also launched MIROS or the Manila Information Reference Online Service, the virtual library assistant that users can consult for their research and information needs. You can connect to MIROS by sending a message to their Facebook page: @ManilaCityLib
Manila City Library Head Librarian Mylene Villanueva thanked the government's support in improving the library.
