The World Health Organization recently launched a new mobile application, WHO Info. This app is designed for the general public to receive real-time news and updates from WHO and COVID-19 news from all over the world.
This app will provide information on the progress of finding medicines and vaccines against the disease. It also shows real-time trackers of COVID-19 cases by country. The WHO Info app is designed to be simple and intuitive for easier navigation.
With the spread of fake news about the disease, this app is a great source of reliable information.

WHO also launched another app, WHO Academy, which is for supporting health workers during the pandemic. The app offers access to tools, information resources, training, and online seminars to enhance their knowledge and skills on COVID-19.
WHO will also be establishing a WHO Academy site in Lyon, France, on May 2021. According to WHO, "The state-of-the-art lifelong learning center, will apply the latest technologies and adult learning science to meet the learning needs of millions of health workers, policymakers, and WHO staff around the world."
"With this new mobile app, the WHO is putting the power of learning and knowledge-sharing directly into the hands of health workers everywhere," said Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General.
The app is also free on the Apple and Google App stores. For more information, visit http://academy.who.int.
