Bestselling author John Green was spotted in Guimaras Island in the Philippines to promote his latest book, Everything is Tuberculosis. He joined the launching of an event, TB-Free Guimaras Island Initiative that aims to eradicate the disease in the island. He also had a book signing for his fans.
John Green is known for his young adult books Looking for Alaska and The Fault in our Stars, which was made into a movie in 2014.
Everything Is Tuberculosis: The History and Persistence of Our Deadliest Infection was published this March and explores the history and
persistence of the disease by weaving together the scientific and social
history of tuberculosis with the story of a young patient he met in Sierra Leone.
I admit that I haven’t read anything by him but I watch his educational content on Youtube on the channel vlogbrothers (with his brother Hank Green) and Crash Course.
I think its so cool of him to do this for his health advocacy and keeping it lowkey. Fans were very happy to meet him and having their books signed. I wonder if he’ll stay or where he’ll go next in the country!
