The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center/Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC/AQD) in Tigbauan, Iloilo, an international research institution, is in urgent need of an INFORMATION ASSISTANT to be assigned at its Library and Data Banking Services Section, Training and Information Division.
Qualifications:
Graduate of Bachelor of Library and Information Science or Master of Library and Information Science
Preferably:
- Registered Professional Librarian
- Should have good scholastic records
- With experience working in library, particularly in special library
- Familiar in using library standards, such as Resource Description and Access, Library of Congress Classification, Library of Congress Subject Headings, ASFA Thesaurus, and Dublin Core Metadata Elements
- With high level of knowledge in records management, cataloging and classification, metadata management, and indexing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexible, diligent, honest, reliable, meticulous, patient, knows how to multi-task, can deliver and work under pressure and has good work ethics
Summary of duties to be performed:
This position is responsible for providing assistance to the management and organization of Data Bank documents and Central Records; cataloging; classifying; indexing library resources; and for performing other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor or higher authority from time to time.
